Preston Refrigeration, a leading industrial refrigeration provider, is thrilled to announce a new collaboration with Fehr Solutions, a water treatment services and consulting firm. This collaboration will provide a robust and efficient passivation process that is unlike anything the industry has seen before. Utilizing a proprietary composition of chemicals in a controlled environment allows for a decreased process timeline with data-driven results.
Through this process, we can deliver a passivated condenser in a fraction of the time with superior results. Once the process is completed, the new condenser is installed and monitored for three months to ensure the effectiveness of the passivation process. Fehr Solutions conducts regular testing of the water quality and provides the final passivation report to show the unit is fully passivated and ready for operation.
Well-passivated coils prepare the surface for routine operation, enhancing the resistance to chemical corrosion and preventing the formation of white rust. Poor or ineffectual water treatment (pH excursions, scale formation, overfeed of oxidizing biocides) can still compromise the zinc surfaces, so it is critical to maintaining proper water treatment post-passivation.
