Wes Cook Retires from Preston Refrigeration After 28 Years of Service

January 16, 2024

The Preston Refrigeration team would like to recognize Wesley Cook as he retires after 28 years of service with the company. We greatly appreciate his devotion of time and effort, truly demonstrating what it means to be PRESTON PROUD.

Wes began working with the company on his now-retirement date back in 1996, working on a road crew with John Sedlacek for five years. He later joined Shaun Harmon's team in the shop. Wes requested that a monument be erected to honor John Sedlacek and Shaun Harmon for their leadership and contributions to his career.

When asked about his job, Wes responded, “I just drive the truck”.  In addition, he told us that his most memorable drive for the company was the one through Madison Nebraska, where he encountered a blizzard halfway through the trip.

During his time with the company, Wes was able to see many of his bucket-list states, including Miami, California, and Washington. As he prepares to retire, he plans to visit all of the places he did not visit with his wife and show her the places he has been. Wes met his wife on a drive to Osceola a year after he started working with the company, and has been with her ever since. Wes said that in retirement he’s going to “stop and smell the roses.” We hope there are plenty of roses awaiting you on this next chapter, Wes.

Thank you for your hard work!
